Collection: Adam Albrecht

Painter and printmaker, most famous for his depictions of soldiers, battle scenes, and horses. After 1807, he worked for the Italian vice-roy Eugène Beauharnais, whom he followed to Russia in 1812, painting numerous battle-scenes. He later followed his parton to Italy, where he remained for two years. In 1815, Adam returned to Munich, working for a variety of aristocractic patrons, including Maximilian I and King Ludwid I. Adam moved to Stuttgart, where he worked for King William of Wurttemberg in 1829, before returning to Munich, where he remained until his death in 1862.
